The first name of the band was ANAON. After several personnel changes, they began creating their own repertoire in 1998 and changed their name to ADOR DORATH the following year.
In spring 2002, they independently released their debut album titled „Adon Nin Edeleth Ador Dorath.“ The album received very warm reception, and in January 2004, the band released a short concert video with two songs and a bonus titled „Live in Harenda,“ which was subsequently included as part of the reissue of their debut album under the official label of Shindy Productions. A year later, the band released their second album titled „Symbols“ under the same label. The album was awarded by the Academy of Popular Music in the Anděl Allianz 2005 Awards (czech version of Grammy Awards) as the album of the year in the „Hard and Heavy“ category and later became the album of the year also in genre voting in the Břitva Awards. Since 2003, the band has been touring with leading representatives of the metal scene worldwide. In 2006, they released their first music video for the song „V.I.T.R.I.O.L.“ from the album „Symbols.“ The year 2008 saw the release of their third studio album titled „Bestiari.“ The following year, the band released a music video for the song „Words.“ In the summer of 2010, the recording of a DVD took place, which was released at the beginning of 2011 to mark thirteen years of the band’s existence. The DVD, titled „Thirteen,“ contains two discs featuring an hour-long recording of live performances, all official and unofficial music videos, historical concert recordings, and many other materials related to the band’s history. In 2014, the band released their fourth album titled „The Very Essence Of Fire.“ In December 2017, a music video for the song „Outspoken“ was released, which is included in the prepared fifth album, titled „Ultimate Black,“ which was then produced between 2020 and 2023, when it was completed.
